While Grand Theft Auto VI will be released for PS5 this November, fans of the game’s soundtrack will have to wait till December to enjoy Justice’s score in its full glory instead. Rockstar announced that the official GTA VI soundtrack will arrive on all major music streaming services, CD, and vinyl on Dec. 11.
To go along with this announcement, Rockstar also dropped a new track titled Pusher, featuring Gesaffelstein. This track in particular sounds like it came straight out of a Hotline Miami level, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear it in some sort of nightclub-themed mission in GTA VI. The entire original score is composed by French electronic duo Justice, and some tracks will also feature other artists such as Flower in a Hurricane (used in the launch trailer) being a huge collaboration between SZA, Tame Impala, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
At the time of writing, a handful of tracks from the GTA VI soundtrack are now available for streaming, including music from Morgan Wallen and Cardi B. Music has always been a big part of the series (as have the iconic radio stations which are coming back in a big way this time around, too) and as a fan of Justice personally, I’m really excited to see what else they do with this project. It’s just a shame we’ll have to wait almost an entire month to be able to enjoy it as a standalone experience.
GTA VI features dual protagonists Jason and Lucia who find themselves falling back into a life of crime after the latter is released from prison. Just like in GTA V, this game will allow you to switch between both protagonists at any time, with plenty of optional activities to pursue outside of the main story.
Grand Theft Auto VI is set to be released for PS5 on Nov. 19.
