I guess we all kinda saw this one coming. The Duskbloods, which got a Closed Network Test this year and was also supposed to be released at some point in 2026, has been delayed to 2027. This isn’t all that surprising, considering that we haven’t really heard much about it since the Network Test, and the fact that it’s not been in any of the recent Nintendo Directs.
FromSoftware released a statement announcing the delay, as follows:
“While development of ‘The Duskbloods‘ is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027. We apologize to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title and thank you for your patience and support.
During the network test, we saw active interest in the core concepts of the game, including combat, strategic depth, and player expression. To further enhance these aspects, we have decided to move the launch, allowing time for final adjustments to game rules and balancing.”
That being said, FromSoft does also mention that The Duskbloods is in its final stages of development, which suggests that we probably won’t have to wait too long after all.
The Duskbloods is a new PvPvE game from FromSoftware that allows up to eight players to drop into a level and fight each other, while also dealing with scary boss fight threats. It seems players will get more freedom with their character builds though, which should still make it feel like a regular Soulsborne game, but with a heavy multiplayer focus. It feels like an extension of Elden Ring Nightreign — which I personally did not enjoy — but with more of a PvP twist. That said, I’m keeping an open mind with this one.
The Duskbloods will be available exclusively for the Switch 2 in 2027.
