The Duskbloods Closed Network Test Dated for August

There’s still much we don’t know about FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods, apart from the fact that it’s going to be a PvPvE game, but I suspect that will change very soon. FromSoftware announced during the previous Nintendo Direct that a closed network test would be coming soon, and it’s official. It’s been dated for August.

The closed network test for The Duskbloods will run from Aug. 21 to 23, and signups will open on July 22. The test times are as follows:

DateTime
Aug. 213 a.m. – 7 a.m. PT
7 p.m. – 11 p.m. PT
Aug. 2211 a.m. – 3 a.m. PT
Aug. 233 a.m. – 7 a.m. PT
7 p.m. – 11 p.m. PT

Here’s an overview of the goals for the closed network test:

  • Game Server Load Test: We will connect large numbers of players simultaneously to verify gameplay while putting a load on the game server.
  • Multiplayer Test: We will test for various problems that may occur when multiple people play together in different network environments, and various phenomena that may occur by having many users participate.
  • Game Balance Test: When real players test the game together, the developers can gather data about how well the game is balanced.

You can sign up for the test here on July 22.

Unlike FromSoft’s previous games, The Duskbloods will likely have a heavier focus on multiplayer. The idea is that up to eight players can join a session and battle each other while also contending with PvE enemies. It feels kinda like Elden Ring Nightreign, except that game didn’t have any PvP elements to it. I’m still on the fence about this one, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the closed network test before making any decisions.

The Duskbloods is set to be released for the Nintendo Switch 2, though no release date has been announced yet.
