Elden Ring Movie Adaptation to Launch in March 2028; Full Cast Revealed

It was announced a while ago that A24 would be producing a live-action adaptation of Elden Ring. Not only that, but Alex Garland had also been tapped to direct. Movie buffs may be familiar with Garland, who’s worked on 28 Days Later and 28 Years Later with Danny Boyle, as well as Annihilation and Civil War. He’s also gone on record saying he’s a huge fan of Elden Ring itself, having played through the game multiple times.

These are all positive signs for the fate of the Elden Ring movie, especially in a world where video game to movie adaptations typically do not do very well. The movie is now in full production and will be shot for IMAX. It’s slated to release on March 3, 2028. The full cast has also been revealed, as listed below:

  • Kit Connor
  • Ben Whishaw
  • Cailee Spaeny
  • Tom Burke
  • Havana Rose Liu
  • Sonoya Mizuno
  • Jonathan Pryce
  • Ruby Cruz
  • Nick Offerman
  • John Hodgkinson
  • Jefferson Hall
  • Emma Laird
  • Peter Serafinowicz

A few big names here, including Ben Whishaw who’s been in Skyfall and Paddington, and of course, Nick Offerman of The Office fame, who’s also been in things like HBO’s The Last of Us and Margo’s Got Money Troubles. Emma Laird deserves a shoutout here too, who played Jimmima in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple and delivered a highly disturbing and psychotic performance.

It’s hard to form any sort of take on the Elden Ring movie when we don’t know exactly what story content it’ll be covering, or which actors are playing who. All I can say is that I’m generally a fan of Garland’s work and if he really is as Elden Ring-pilled as the rest of us, then this will probably turn out decent… Right?

Elden Ring is set to release in theaters on March 3, 2028.
