The Boys Season 5 has wrapped up filming for a little bit now and is due to air probably early 2026. Now that the actors are all done with their bits, Antony Starr has taken to Instagram to post a farewell message to the show and his iconic character, Homelander.
“I love this show. And I love this character. Truly,” Starr says, “I will dearly miss heading to work, knowing what we were aiming for but never knowing where we would find ourselves by the end of the day… Only that we would have fun and it would be creatively rewarding in the extreme.”
He goes on to describe Homelander as a “complicated character” that “allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience.” Finally, he also thanks showrunner Eric Kripke: “We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you.”
Apart from the returning main cast, The Boys Season 5 will also see the return of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, whom we last saw in Season 3 as he was put back into a coma. In addition to that, his fellow Supernatural alums Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki will also be making an appearance in Season 5. We don’t fully know what their roles will be in The Boys, but it’ll be fun to get a little Supernatural reunion at the very least.
The Boys Season 5 will be the final season of Prime’s supremely popular twisted superhero show. The show is based on Garth Ennis’ comic books of the same name, and puts an interesting spin on the superhero formula, with a dash of human corruption, greed, and capitalism. Before Season 5 airs, fans will have Gen V Season 2 to look forward to this year.
The Boys is now available for streaming on Prime.
