Resident Evil Requiem Is Getting a Story DLC, New Mini-Game, & Photo Mode

As has been the case with all of the more recent Resident Evil games, Resident Evil Requiem will be getting plenty of post-launch support too. Game director Koshi Nakanishi announced that while the team has been hard at work updating and fixing various game bugs, there’s also new content to look forward to.

First, Resident Evil Requiem will be getting a photo mode. Which is fantastic. I’m not usually one to make use of photo modes in games, but I did find it to be a weird omission in Requiem. This game is unbelievably gory and pretty, and I definitely wished I had a photo mode so I could grab all the screenshots I wanted.

Next up, Nakanishi confirmed that they’d be adding a mini-game to Requiem, and that we can look forward to a surprise in May. More excitingly, however, is the announcement of a story expansion DLC. Nakanishi didn’t provide any details, aside from the fact that this expansion will dive deeper into the world of Requiem.

Oh, and no, it wasn’t lost on me that Nakanishi just casually showed off a bunch of random graphics before announcing the story expansion, including what looks like a Leon-focused dating sim, a cat mode, and a card game with Gideon. Look, I know these are just gags. But Capcom, please. Give me that Leon dating sim and a cat mode where I get to play as cat versions of Leon and Grace and I will give you so much money.

Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth entry in the mainline series, introducing new protagonist Grace Ashcroft and bringing back series icon Leon Kennedy. I largely enjoyed the game and loved how it subverted so many of my expectations, though I couldn’t help but feel like Leon’s gameplay sections were a little bit draggy compared with the stressfulness and intensity of Grace’s.

Resident Evil Requiem is now available on PC and consoles.
