Like clockwork, we’re about to get yet another mini set release in Pokemon TCG Pocket. The new booster pack is called Extradimensional Crisis, and we’ll be getting even more Alola-themed cards from Pokemon Sun and Moon in this one.
You can check out the trailer for yourself down below:
This themed booster pack will introduce Ultra Beast cards, as well as an Ex version of Tapu Koko and a Lusamine Trainer card. Other Pokemon cards featured include Guzzlord Ex, Buzzswole, and Type: Null, which may very well be one of the edgiest Pokemon we’ve ever seen in the series. I also caught a glimpse of an adorable full art version of Rowlet, and you can bet I’ll be looking to hunt that one down once the pack becomes available.
That said, Guzzlord Ex looks like it might be quite the menace. It essentially has the same effect as Team Rocket Grunt, which gives you the chance to remove Energy from your opponent’s Active Pokemon. Similarly, there’s a lot of synergy between Lusamine and the Ultra Beasts, which could make them very viable. Giving two Energy to an Ultra Beast — with the caveat that your opponent already has one knockout point — can be game-changing.
Extradimensional Crisis will be released on May 29, at 2 a.m. Eastern Time, which is when the daily reset happens. It’s worth noting that once this pack is available, players will be able to start trading cards from the Celestial Guardians packs featuring Solgaleo Ex and Lunala Ex.
Pokemon TCG Pocket is now available for free on mobile devices.
