PlayStation State of Play June 2025: All Game Trailers & Announcements

Not-E3 is almost upon us, and Sony got ahead of it by hosting their own State of Play presentation. It was packed with trailers for completely new games, games that we already knew were in the works, and games that are already out but are getting some minor updates. There’s a lot to get through, so here’s a complete list of every trailer and announcement from the June 2025 State of Play presentation.

All Game Trailers and Announcements from State of Play June 2025

Astro Bot Is Getting New Levels

Astro Bot released to critical acclaim last year, and fans will be able to dive into even more content with a hefty new update. This summer, Astro Bot is getting five new Vicious Void Galaxy levels.

These levels will come with new Special Bots, and they’re also supposed to be more challenging than anything we’ve seen in the base game. In addition, Sony also announced an Astro Bot-themed DualSense controller to be released later in the year.

Baby Steps

Walking simulators are definitely back in vogue. Baby Steps is all about the traversal. You take control of Nate, a grown ass man in a onesie who must navigate his way around all sorts of tricky terrain. Just the general look of the game is comical and kinda campy. And honestly? I’m here for it.

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement

I was a huge fan of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, despite not even being a Castlevania fan, so this is really exciting news. Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement introduces two new protagonists, Leo and Alex, who set out to explore a new mysterious castle. Because of course they are. What else are they gonna do?

What sets this apart from Ritual of the Night is that you’ll be able to switch between both characters any time you want. You will, of course, have to make use of their unique abilities to get through the castle and its puzzles.

Cairn

Cairn has been described as a survival-climber game. As you might’ve guessed, the game revolves around you charting your path up a mountain in the most efficient way possible. You’ll need to manage your resources and stamina, test your palm strength, and try to make your way to the top.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Digimon Story: Time Stranger was announced back in February, and it now has an official launch date of Oct. 3. The trailer shows off more story beats, as well as the customization features for your Digimon.

Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots

Back during the early days of Twinfinite, I picked up Everybody’s Golf on a whim. I ended up having a blast just playing the game with my co-workers on voice chat while creating the most ridiculous character ever while shooting balls all over the place.

Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots brings the golfing classic back to PS5 this September, and it looks like Pac-Man will be getting in on the fun as well.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles

This has got to be the highlight of the June 2025 State of Play. Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the most beloved Final Fantasy games of all time, and it was certainly way overdue for a modern remaster.

Well, Square Enix has finally done it. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is coming to all platforms this September, and it comes with fully voiced dialogue, an improved UI, enhanced graphics, and other quality-of-life features.

I’ve always wanted to properly sink into FF Tactics, especially since Twinfinite’s ex-Managing Editor Ed McGlone would never shut up about it. The dated graphics and combat always put me off, though. But hey, maybe this time I’ll actually give it a shot and beat it.

Ghost of Yotei

Ghost of Yotei is one of the most highly anticipated video game releases of 2025. Samurai fever is at an all-time high, especially with the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows from earlier this year.

We got a quick look at Ghost of Yotei at the June 2025 State of Play, but we’ll be getting a dedicated presentation for the game soon, with an extended look at story and gameplay.

Hirogami

Hirogami is a platformer game with a beautiful and unique-looking origami aesthetic. You’ll take control of Hiro, and you’ll be able to do all sorts of cool origami things like transforming into paper animals and folding over yourself to fight enemies and solve puzzles.

007: First Light

This is another exciting one. Goldeneye has long since been touted as one of the best games ever made, and IO Interactive is determined to bring James Bond back in a big way and maybe even craft their own legacy.

007: First Light is a brand new third-person action-adventure game that touches on James Bond’s origin story. Given IO Interactive’s track record with Hitman, I’m definitely excited to see what they’re able to cook up here.

Lumines Arise

Yes, this is that Lumines. As in, the puzzle game. Lumines Arise is a new entry in the puzzle series that’s coming to PS5 and PSVR 2. It comes with 30 new stages with beautiful backdrops, and it sure sounds like it’ll be a treat to play in VR.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

This one ain’t for me but I’m sure the fighting game community is probably going crazy right about now. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a Marvel-based fighting game developed by Arc System Works, in conjunction with Marvel Games and PlayStation.

It’s a tag team fighter that’s supposed to be easy to pick up and play for genre newbies, but hard to master for genre veterans.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

We got a new Snake Eater trailer at the June 2025 State of Play presentation, offering a closer look at the Cobra Unit. These guys are the main villains Snake will be facing off against, and as you might expect, they’re all complete weirdos.

Konami also recently released the intro cutscene for Delta: Snake Eater, featuring the iconic Snake Eater song performed by Cynthia Harrell. That redone cutscene boasts a re-recording from Harrell, who can absolutely still hit those high notes.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection

Fighting game fans are eating good this month. NetherRealm Studios announced the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which is set to be released later this year. The collection features early games from the series, as well as documentaries going over the development process.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

Speaking of classic game series, we got a proper look at Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, which is set to be released next month. Ragebound is the latest entry in the Ninja Gaiden series, and promises to deliver on tough platforming and fun action combat.

Nioh 3

Now this was a bit of a surprise, though I guess I shouldn’t be all that surprised considering how great the first two games were for Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo. Nioh 3 was announced at the June 2025 State of Play presentation, and it brings back the tough, fast-paced action combat from its predecessors.

A demo is also available now, allowing players to check out the new play styles and switch between them at will.

Pragmata

Pragmata is a new sci-fi adventure game from Capcom. The new trailer gives us a better idea of what it’s all about, including a look at the game’s two protagonists. You’ll be able to control both of them, and you need to be able to use them effectively in order to progress.

Romeo Is a Dead Man

Without looking at any footage, I already know this is a Suda51 joint just based on the title. Romeo Is a Dead Man is a new game from Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture. It features protagonist Romeo Stargazer, an FBI agent who’s stuck between life and death.

Known as agent Dead Man, he’s tasked with chasing down criminals and fugitives through space-time and battle evil.

Sea of Remnants

Sea of Remnants is an action RPG set in, well, the open sea. Gameplay largely revolves around ship upgrades, as you’ll need to make sure your vessel is able to actually weather the storm and bring your crew back home to safety.

Silent Hill f

Silent Hill f was originally announced alongside a glut of new Silent Hill games by Konami, including last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake. This is completely original content though, and it looks terrifying.

Protagonist Shimizu Hinako’s hometown has been swallowed by the iconic fog, and you know what this means. Tons of monsters are about to come out to play. Konami says this is a good entry to start with for newcomers, as it’s a standalone spinoff title.

Sword of the Sea

Sword of the Sea is a cool, third-person mythical surfing adventure game developed by Giant Squid. It’ll be releasing in August, and will also be part of the PS Plus lineup for that month.

Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow

I’m not sure how many Thief fans are still out there but I can’t imagine this was what they had in mind when it comes to a series a reboot. Either way, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow is coming to PSVR 2 this year.

Players will play as protagonist Magpie, and do all sorts of classic Thief things in VR, like sneaking around and stealing.

Tides of Tomorrow

This one looks interesting. Tides of Tomorrow is an asynchronous multiplayer game set against an oceanic backdrop. A player’s choices and actions will determine how the game plays out, and you’ll also be able to see the choices of other players, which can help you make an informed decision on what to do next.
