Marvel Rivals Is Getting Swimsuit Skins as Part of Marvel’s Swimsuit Special Issue

Marvel Swimsuit Special is an annual one-shot issue that depicts iconic Marvel characters in beachwear and swimsuits. It’s making a return this July, with plenty of summer fun to look forward to. To make things even more exciting, Marvel also announced that special new swimsuit costumes will be coming to Marvel Rivals.

The issue is titled Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals. This July will see the release of the first issue with an overarching story by Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs, with art by Nick Bradshaw. Artists like Nic Klein, Marguerite Sauvage, and Luciano Vecchio will also be featured in the one-shot. While the official announcement post did not specify when exactly we’ll be seeing the new skins in Marvel Rivals, we did get a glimpse of some of the art that readers can expect this summer.

The gorgeous splash art features She-Hulk, Black Panther, Tony Stark, and other heroes. There are also variant covers, which showcase other iconic characters like Cyclops and Jean Grey.

Marvel Swimsuit Special Release Date

The Marvel Swimsuit Special issue is set to be released on July 9. We can probably expect more info about the Marvel Rivals skins to drop around then as well. Me personally? With Spider-Man being such a menace in the meta-game these days, I can’t wait for his exclusive speedo suit skin just to add insult to injury.

Marvel Rivals was developed and published by NetEase in December 2024 as a free-to-play hero shooter on PC and consoles. It bears a lot of similarities to Blizzard’s own hero shooter, Overwatch, boasting a wide roster of characters to choose from. Every character fits into a different archetype, so you have your DPS characters, tanks, and healers. While the game is free-to-play, folks can drop real money on a monthly Battle Pass. You can also buy individual skins to customize the experience.

Marvel Rivals is now available as a free-to-play title on PC and consoles.
