I’m Ready to Defend My Queen Santos Once Again in The Pitt Season 3

Like clockwork, HBO Max has just dropped a new teaser trailer for The Pitt Season 3, which is due out in January 2027. The show has been lauded not just for its gritty depiction of the ER and its full shift format, but also for, y’know, not making viewers wait years and years in between seasons. And we get more than just 10 episodes. Are we back in the 2000s?

Anyway, here’s the new trailer for The Pitt Season 3.

Like any good teaser trailer, we don’t get much information on the upcoming storylines, apart from confirmation of which characters are coming back. In particular, I’m pleased to see Robbie back from the sabbatical he may or may not have taken of course, Park the Shark, Javadi who is notably not wearing ER scrubs, Dana as always, Dr Al-Hashimi, Abbot, and Dr Shen with his comfort drink. If you’ve followed any of my Season 2 coverage, you’ll also know that I am a huge Santos advocate and defender, and that is certainly not going to change this season. Unless, of course, she compromises the wellbeing of a patient this season or does something completely indefensible.

Still, I was glad to see her little fist bump with Whitaker, and I’m rooting for her to get a big hero storyline this season because god knows she was done so damn dirty in Season 2 with Langdon’s return. Speaking of Langdon, he’s back as well and looking in rougher shape than before. It’s worth noting that the trailer does allude to this being Robbie’s first shift in a while, and it seems that he and Langdon are both at least on somewhat amicable terms.

The trailer didn’t reveal if my personal Season 2 favorite Joy Kwon is back for another go-around, though I get the feeling she may not be entirely suited for ER work. This is also the first season we’re getting without Supriya Ganesh’s Dr Mohan, which saddens me to no end, but we will endure.

The Pitt Season 3 is set to start streaming on HBO Max in January 2027.
