That Homelander. He’s just such a royal ass, isn’t he? At the very least, that’s how Jaz Sinclair — who plays Marie Moreau — in Gen V describes him. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sinclair reflected on Marie’s new role in the world of The Boys and how her character could actually be powerful enough to kill the evil Superman stand-in.
“I was always hoping that they would write me to kill Homelander. I always really liked the idea of taking him out ’cause he’s such a royal ass, you know?” Sinclair tells EW. “Marie’s such an underdog. The expansion of my powers in [Gen V] season 2 is really exciting. So the weight of that and the implication of what that could mean for Marie was really fun for me this season.”
I mean if you think about it, Marie really might be the most powerful Supe in the world of The Boys and Gen V. After all, she can control and manipulate a person’s blood. As powerful as Homelander is, even he bleeds. What’s stopping Marie from just bloodbending the hell out of him? Not to mention the fact that Marie even survived a whole ass laser blast to the chest at the end of Gen V Season 1, signaling that she’s a lot more powerful than she lets on. And if that Gen V Season 2 trailer is anything to go by, we’re about to see her grow in a big way.
Ahead of the fifth and final season of The Boys, which will likely air sometime in 2026, we’ll be getting Gen V Season 2 next month, which helps to set up the big finale. Gen V Season 2 takes place after The Boys Season 4, and Homelander is already properly in control of the US and all our protagonists are scattered. We already know that Starlight (played by Erin Moriarty) will show up in some capacity in Gen V Season 2 (along with Black Noir), so it’s entirely possible that the Boys could end up recruiting Marie and have her assist in the fight against Homelander.
Personally, I don’t think there’s any way at all Marie’s going to be the one who kills Homelander. Maybe she’ll help to weaken him somehow, but as for the honor of actually killing him? That’s gotta be Butcher.
The Boys and Gen V are now available for streaming on Prime.
