Fantasy Life i’s Switch 2 Upgrade Is Cheaper Than You Think

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is shaping up to be the cozy game hit of the summer. It’s already getting free DLC, and there’s more good news on the way, especially for Switch players. Level-5 has announced that Fantasy Life i will get a Switch 2 upgrade on June 5, which is when the console itself launches.

Level-5 states that the game will “take full advantage of the hardware’s capabilities, offering significant improvements.” Here are the aforementioned improvements:

  • Reduced load times: Enjoy smoother scene transitions and faster game launches for a seamless experience.
  • Improved graphics and frame rate: Visuals are more beautiful and animations more fluid than before.

In addition to that, Level-5 also states that folks who already own the game on Switch can get the Switch 2 upgrade for $2.59 USD, or 2.27 EUR. Now don’t get me wrong, it still sucks that you have to pay any amount of money for a graphical upgrade, but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than what I was expecting. For context, the upgrade packs for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will set you back $9.99 USD each.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is an RPG with plenty of cozy life sim elements packed into it. Players get to choose from a variety of different Lives to go mining, woodcutting, or fishing. There are also crafting-focused Lives that let you use the materials you’ve gathered to make furniture, equipment, and food. There’s a story to follow too, of course, but why save the world when you can make some well-done steaks?

I’m still working through the game myself, but I should have our official review up later this week. So stay tuned for that.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is now available for consoles and PC.
