Fantasy Life i to Get Free DLC With New Recipes & Content

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time might be the surprise breakout hit of May. Developed by Level-5, this game has received next to no marketing at all in the lead-up to its release, but it’s already gaining a lot of traction among its fan base and the mainstream audience. To celebrate the game’s launch and as a thank you to fan support, Level-5 is releasing free DLC for Fantasy Life i.

Here’s a quick overview of the content you can expect from the DLC:

  • New recipes added
  • “Update the World!” Additional Content
    • New content designed to make use of high-rarity weapons obtained from Treasure Groves and other sources.
    • Players can look forward to even more opportunities to showcase their gear.

Level-5 has yet to announce a release date for the DLC, but promised to drop it as soon as possible.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is the latest entry in Level-5’s somewhat long-running cozy RPG series. Players can take on a whole bunch of Lives (read: classes) to do a variety of things like woodcutting, fishing, mining, weaving, and more. There are combat-focused Lives too, of course, but the real charm lies in the cozy slice-of-life elements.

So far, the game has been released to widespread acclaim. That being said, some players have reported slightly subpar performance on Switch. Personally, I’m playing on the Switch OLED model, and while it’s obvious that there’s a bit of a graphical downgrade, it still looks pretty good and it’s very much playable. I’ll have more to say about the game in my official review once I get more time with it. But for now, yeah, it’s pretty damn good. I’m living out my cozy island dreams like it’s 2020 and I’m playing Animal Crossing again. Except with combat.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is now available on PC and consoles.
