Christmas has indeed come early. Fallout Season 2 was originally supposed to premiere on Prime Video on Dec. 17, but the streamer has just announced that the show will air on Dec. 16 instead, a day earlier than originally planned. The debut episode will go live at 6 p.m. Pacific Time, or 9 p.m. Eastern Time if you’re on the east coast.
The news comes by way of the official Fallout Twitter/X account, complete with a short video of the iconic Exosphere of Sphere in Las Vegas. The Exosphere transforms into a snow globe featuring characters Lucy, Maximus, the Ghoul, and a Deathclaw ripping off parts of the billboard to reveal the new release date as they try to break out of the globe.
Fallout Season 2 picks up directly where Season 1 left off, when Hank MacLean escapes to New Vegas in a powersuit after Lucy discovers the truth about him and her mother. As the trailers and posters have shown us, Season 2 will largely take place in New Vegas, and also feature flashbacks from the Ghoul’s past. Trailers and stills have also revealed that Mr House will make an appearance this season, though the showrunners have declined to confirm or deny which New Vegas ending is considered canon in the context of the show.
Fallout Season 1 was a huge success for Prime Video, quickly becoming one of the most-watched shows on the platform. Ahead of the second season, Amazon has also gone ahead and ordered up a third season.
Fallout Season 2 will be available for streaming on Prime Video on Dec. 16.
