Casting for Fallout Season 3 has already begun, with Amazon confirming that Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul will be added to the roster. There are no details on his character within the show, but it’s probably a safe bet that he’ll play a wholly original role.
Filming for Fallout Season 3 is also expected to start this summer, and given the quick turnaround time between Seasons 1 and 2, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for Season 3 to drop some time in 2027 too. It’s worth pointing out that Paul has worked with producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy previously on HBO’s Westworld, so Fallout Season 3 would mark a reunion for the trio.
In a 2024 interview with IGN, Nolan had also mentioned that Paul has expressed enthusiasm and interest in appearing in Fallout, so it’s nice to see that finally come to fruition.
Paul is best known for portraying Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad. Since then, he’s also been featured in Westworld, Black Mirror, as well as last year’s breakout hit Dispatch, where he voiced the main character Robert Robertson the Third, AKA Mecha Man. Considering that Paul is still essentially synonymous with the persona of Jesse Pinkman, it’s nice to see him step into roles that allow him to demonstrate more range — with Black Mirror and Dispatch being key standouts in his career specifically. Personally, I’d love to see Paul take on a more antagonistic role, which would be a marked departure from the roles he usually plays.
While Fallout Season 2 largely took place in New Vegas, it’s been hinted that Season 3 will see the story continue in a wholly different location, Colorado. It’s worth noting that Colorado has never been featured in any of the Fallout video games, which means the show will continue to cut a path through uncharted territory.
Fallout is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
