After finishing your first playthrough of Silent Hill f, there’s still plenty more to do especially if you want to see the other endings and get the full picture. One of the first steps is finding the Sacred Sword, which was only briefly hinted at in the first run. Here’s how to get the Divine Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f and how to purify it.
How to Get the Divine Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f
Obtaining the Sacred Sword is one of the requirements for unlocking the extra endings in Silent Hill f, regardless of whether it’s purified. To get it, you’ll need to activate five Jizo statues scattered around Ebisugaoka and present them with different key items. Doing so will reward you with the Sacred Sword itself at the Divine Tree.
Just obtaining the Sword itself is enough for one of the endings, but there’s another ending that requires you to also purify it with the red medicine. I’ll go over all the steps down below.
All Jizo Statue Locations in Silent Hill f
First, let’s talk about how to actually get the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f. As mentioned previously, there are five Jizo statues to interact with in town, and you can find five Research Photographs that give you a clue as to their locations.
Jizo Statue #1

At the start of a fresh run, when you leave Hinako’s house, head down the mountain to find the first Jizo statue tucked away next to one of the houses on the mountain path.
For the key item, you need to head to the house just north of it and obtain a treasure hunt key on the second floor. Go down to the first floor and head into the side room in the kitchen. Look for a box in the corner and open it to find the Faded Bridesmaid Doll. Offer it to the Jizo statue.
Jizo Statue #2

After meeting up with Shu, you’ll be tasked with heading to Rinko’s house. Follow the path north until it splits into north and east. First, go north to find Sakuko’s shrine and pick up the Rusted Flask, then head back down and take the east path.
To your left, you’ll find a small shack and a clearing. Head all the way inside to find the second Jizo statue and offer it the Rusted Flask.
Jizo Statue #3

The third Jizo Statue can be found on your way to Ebisugaoka Middle School. As you’re taking the stairs up the mountain, go off the beaten path to find the statue sitting outside a shack.
The key item you need is further up. Keep progressing towards the school until you see the cutscene with Shu and Rinko talking about how Hinako is dead, then continue on. At the top of the stairs, turn left to find the broken bridge, where Hinako comments on how she and Shu used to play here. Examine the boxes at the side of the bridge to find the Broken Japanese Geta Sandal. Head back to the statue and offer the Sandal.
Jizo Statue #4

The fourth Jizo Statue is located on the path towards Shu’s house. Just before you’re about to reach the house, turn right to find a small corner where the statue is.
Head to Shu’s house and go around the back to find a small shack. Examine the side of the shack’s exterior to find the Cracked Hibachi Brazier. Bring it back to the statue and offer it up.
Jizo Statue #5

After the cutscene at Shu’s house, continue east towards Hinako’s house. Along the path here, look for a small shack on the northwestern side of the map to find the fifth and final Jizo Statue tucked away in a corner.
To get the key item, go directly southeast of the Jizo Statue to find another house. Outside the house, near the wooden racks, look for a knife stuck in a tree. Interact with it to get Dad’s Kitchen Knife. Offer it to the statue, and you’re good to go.
Silent Hill f Sacred Sword Location

With all five Jizo Statues activated, head back to the Divine Tree, which is located on the northwestern mountain path from Shu’s house. Interact with the Jizo Statue in the root of the tree to get the Sacred Sword.
How to Purify the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f
To purify the Sacred Sword, you need to solve the Crimson Water puzzle located in the Dark Shrine. This puzzle can be found on the second floor of the Main Hall, and is only accessible during the Dark Shrine sequence that starts after you reach Shu’s house.
When you gain control of Fox Hinako, go straight to the southeastern corner of the map and open the door. In the screenshot below, from the player marker, go up the stairs in the southeast corner and keep going up, ignoring the door that leads to the ritual chamber.

This will lead you to the second floor, into a large room filled with enemies and broken floorboards. Defeat the enemies and walk around the floorboards to the other side, and you’ll find a wall that you can go through by Focusing on it.
Walk through the new hallway and follow the path all the way to the end to find a new area. You’ll find yourself in a beautiful pond area with a temple at the top and a few bridges to cross over. There are various bells scattered all over the place as well, which are required for the puzzle.
How to Solve the Crimson Water Puzzle

Listen out for the wooden clack that sounds every few seconds. To solve this puzzle, you need to ring three bells in the right order in between each clack. So once you hear the first clack, immediately ring the first bell and head straight to the second bell. Ring it after the second clack, then head to the third bell and ring that after the third clack. You cannot skip the wooden clacks, or you’ll need to redo the puzzle
The Crimson Water puzzle solution is as follows:
- Volcano: Located near the temple entrance.
- Water: Located next to the puzzle rock.
- Tree: Located in the center on the stone path.
If done correctly, the pond will turn red and you’ll know that the puzzle is complete.
Purify the Sacred Sword in Ebisugaoka

Once you regain control of Hinako back in Ebisugaoka, you’ll be tasked with heading back to Hinako’s house. On your way there, near the fifth Jizo Statue, you’ll find a small shrine with a basin that looks a lot like the one you saw in the Crimson Water puzzle area.
If you completed the Crimson Puzzle, the water in this basin will be red with blood. Hold X to purify the Sacred Sword and watch a short cutscene. After the purification, the Sword will no longer restore durability when sheathed, but you can still repair it with Toolkits. If you’ve purified the Sword and you have the Agura-no-hotei-sama, you’ll be on track for Ending 2. If you also offer the brooch, you’ll be on track for Ending 4.
And that’s everything you need to know about the Divine Sacred Sword quest in Silent Hill f for now.
