Silent Hill f Complete Endings Guide

There are a total of five endings available in Silent Hill f. One of them is your classic joke UFO ending, but the other four serve as different facets to the same story. I’d definitely say getting all four of those is crucial to seeing the complete picture, though the path there can be pretty tricky if you don’t know what to look for. With that in mind, I’ve put together a full Silent Hill f endings guide to help you get each one.

This is still a work in progress, but I’ll have these sections updated as soon as I can.

How to Get All Endings in Silent Hill f

First, if you’re on your very first playthrough of Silent Hill f, don’t sweat it. Everyone gets the same ending on their first run no matter what, so don’t worry about missing key items. Play the game as you normally would. Once you get into new game plus, that’s where the fun starts. This is where you’ll need to start looking for important items and solving obscure puzzles to progress.

Ending 1: Coming Home to Roost

The requirements for Ending 1 are as follows:

  • Beat the game for the first time.

This is the ending that everyone gets on the first playthrough. No frills, no fuss.

Ending 1 Explanation

This path reveals that Hinako and Fox Hinako are not exactly the same person. You can think of them as Hinako’s two opposing viewpoints: one that wants to hold on to her friends and family no matter how problematic they are, and one that wants to cut ties with them completely. The ending reveals that the Red Capsules Shu has been giving her have also turned her into a bit of an addict with hallucinations. This may have caused her to go on a murderous rampage at a wedding.

As for whose wedding, I’d actually say that’s kinda up for debate. I think it’s likely that the rampage occurred at her own arranged wedding, but there’s also evidence that suggests that perhaps it was Junko’s wedding. After all, you can pick up a note written by Hinako suggesting that she’s going to make Junko pay on her special day. The implication is that Hinako felt abandoned by Junko when she was sold off to get married, and while under the influence of the drugs, she went after Junko and possibly her own parents.

This path ends with both real Hinako and Fox Hinako screaming at each other in despair.

Ending 2: The Fox’s Wedding

The requirements for Ending 2 are as follows:

  • Do not eat the Red Capsules.
  • Purify the Sacred Sword or did not obtain it.
  • Obtain the Agura-no-Hotei-sama.

Getting this ending is much easier if you just skip the Sacred Sword entirely. If you picked it up, you’ll need to solve the Crimson Water puzzle in the Dark Shrine, which is also where you get the Agura-no-Hotei-sama. This area can be accessed when you visit the Dark Shrine after reaching Shu’s house.

When you gain control of Fox Hinako, go straight to the southeastern corner of the map and open the door, then head through the hallway and up some stairs to find a large room with enemies. There’s also a trick wall here, which you can activate by Focusing. This will take you to the Crimson Puzzle area, where you’ll find the Agura-no-Hotei-sama sitting on a table in the small temple. If you don’t have the Sacred Sword, you can grab it and leave. If not, you’ll need to solve the puzzle first.

Ending 2 Explanation

In this ending, Fox Hinako prevails and defeats real Hinako, with the help of Fox Mask. We also get confirmation that Fox Mask is indeed Kotoyuki, the boy that Hinako saved from the fox in the park when they were kids. Shu also shows up at the Dark Shrine and is in despair that Hinako has chosen to get married.

Shu reveals that the Red Capsules he gave her were meant to help her reflect within herself. He wanted Hinako to see that he cared and that he didn’t want her to get married, but also revealed that the Capsules could be dangerous. Consumed with guilt and despair, Shu gets possessed by a god and serves as the final boss for this ending. After defeating the boss and saving Shu, both Shu and Kotoyuki reach an understanding and Fox Hinako goes ahead with the wedding.

In the very last scene, we see the silhouette of Fox Hinako and Kotoyuki outside a temple, and the latter suggests they go inside as it’s cold. The camera pans down to the stone ground where we see the cut off face of real Hinako screaming that she’s scared and doesn’t want to end up like her mother.

Ending 3: The Fox Wets its Tail

The requirements for Ending 3 are as follows:

  • Do not eat the Red Capsules.
  • Obtain the unpurified Sacred Sword.

For this ending in Silent Hill f, you must obtain the Sacred Sword. This requires you to activate all five Jizo Statues in Ebisugaoka, which will then allow you to collect the weapon from the Divine Tree.

Ending 3 Explanation

I like to call this one the feminist ending of Silent Hill f. In this path, we get a bit more information about Shu and Hinako’s friendship. Both of them refused to conform to the gender norms of keeping boys and girls separate, and thus refused to each other as a boy or a girl. However, that got harder as they grew older, presumably because they started to become more attracted to each other.

In this ending, Fox Hinako does not become strong enough to fight real Hinako. The final boss fight is interrupted by Fox Mask, who intervenes at the last second. It’s then revealed that Fox Mask had wanted to marry Hinako and abided by the rules of human courtship to win her over. When that didn’t work, he decides to fight her and make her submit. After defeating Fox Mask, Shu also shows up in the Dark Shrine to help Hinako. Both of them escape and get back to town, but a final radio broadcast suggests that Ebisugaoka is about to be destroyed by geysers.

Ending 4: Ebisugaoka in Silence

The requirements for Ending 4 are as follows:

  • Do not eat the Red Capsules.
  • Purify the Sacred Sword.
  • Obtain the Agura-no-Hotei-sama.
  • Offer the brooch.

For this ending, you’ll need to get the Sacred Sword by activating all five Jizo Statues, and purify it by solving the Crimson Water puzzle in the Dark Shrine. You’ll also find the Agura-no-Hotei-sama in the Crimson Water puzzle area.

Once you get back to Ebisugaoka, purify the Sacred Sword at the basin located just north of the fifth Jizo Statue. Go back into town, and as you make your way back to Hinako’s house, locate the Ancient Jizo Statue in the small path after the park and offer the fox’s brooch. This will lock you into Ending 4.

Ending 4 Explanation

This can be regarded as the true ending of Silent Hill f. In this path, we learn the truth about Hinako’s family dynamics. It’s revealed that Kante was generally a gentle man who treated Kimie well, but after getting conned out of his life savings by a close friend, he fell into despair and took it out on his daughters. While he and Kimie shared a happy relationship, Kante believed that a good father could never be seen as weak in front of his daughters, and this strained his relationship with Hinako and Junko.

Real Hinako and Fox Hinako eventually reach an understanding where they decide that they no longer want to be told what to do. Whether they get married or not should be up to them. In the Dark Shrine, real Hinako realizes that they’ve been manipulated by the two warring gods of Ebisugaoka this entire time. The fox pushes for marriage, while the other god (represented by the doll), who used to be worshipped in Ebisugaoka before the fox came along, pushes for rebellion against the fox. The conflict between the gods has resulted in Hinako being forced in two completely directions, causing real Hinako and Fox Hinako to fight each other to the death.

However, with the help of Kotoyuki, both Hinakos manage to resist and defeat both gods, driving them out of Ebisugaoka entirely. In the end, Kotoyuki also breaks free from the spell of the Tsunekis and fox clan and leaves to reclaim the years he lost. In a letter to Fox Hinako, he says he wants to discover himself and then decide whether his feelings for her are genuine. Meanwhile, both Hinakos remain in Ebisugaoka as separate entities and watch over the town together. They remark that the town is silent and peaceful without the gods telling them what to do.

Ending 5: The Great Space Invasion

The requirements for Ending 5 are as follows:

  • Listened to all the UFO radio broadcasts.
  • Found all 3 of “The Great Space Invasion” movie posters in order after listening to the UFO radio broadcasts.
  • Found “The Great Space Invasion” movie review after fulfilling the conditions above.

Ending 5 Explanation

Coming soon.

And that does it for our Silent Hill f endings guide.
