Rockstar Has Blessed Us With a New GTA VI Trailer

Yeah yeah yeah, I know we’re all still feeling really disappointed about Grand Theft Auto VI getting delayed out of 2025. But honestly, for two whole glorious minutes there, I might’ve just forgotten all about that because GTA VI has just gotten a new trailer and I’m excited all over again.

You can check out the new GTA VI trailer for yourself down below:

Still no proper gameplay footage, but the trailer gives us a closer look at our dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia. The trailer begins from Jason’s perspective, as we see him hanging out in Vice City and doing regular dude things. Then, Jason heads over to prison to pick up Lucia, who’s just been let out.

Of course, it doesn’t take long for Lucia to lead the pair back into a life of crime. The two of them reignite their fiery relationship, and they’re back in the money-making business. We also get a glimpse of the police in GTA VI, along with who I assume is the lead detective who will likely be our main antagonist. Ammu-Nation, the classic gun store from the Grand Theft Auto series, is also back in this entry.

The rest of the trailer just goes over fun city stuff players will get to do in Vice City. This includes riding on airboats in Vice City’s equivalent of the Everglades, clubbing, and partying on yachts. We also got a look at some of the missions and set-pieces, including a particularly exciting sequence involving Lucia beating up a bunch of guys while trying not to fall out of a plane. Or a helicopter. It was a little difficult to tell.

Grand Theft Auto VI was originally slated for a Fall 2025 release, but Rockstar announced last week that the game would be pushed back to May 2026. The development team needs more time to get the game to where they want it to be. Going beyond that, Jason Schreier also reported that this was a genuine effort on Rockstar’s part to avoid brutal crunch and overtime, like there was with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Along with the trailer, Rockstar has also sent a whole bunch of assets, including new images of NPCs and locales. You can check out the new images in the gallery down below.
