Showrunner Vince Gilligan and Apple TV+ have been teasing us for literal months. I mean, just take a look at all the short teasers they’ve been putting out for Pluribus, including the very first one that was released after, like, a three-day countdown.
After months of these intriguing but honestly unbearable teasers designed to make its viewers beg for more, Gilligan and co have finally deigned to give us a new teaser trailer for Pluribus that actually gives us a proper look at what this show is about. You can check out the trailer for yourself down below:
It’s a short, one-minute trailer but to be frank, this is all I needed. Most of what’s being teased here was already figured out through pre-release promo materials and hints dropped by Gilligan and actress Rhea Seehorn. Pluribus takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico (148-3 to the 3 to the 6 to the 9! Representing the ABQ! What up, biatch?), in a dystopian universe where everyone has seemingly been infected with some sort of virus that leaves them feeling content and optimistic. Everyone, except for Carol, played by Rhea Seehorn.
The trailer gives us glimpses of this new freaky world and we get to hear a short phone call with Carol and an unknown man who advises her to stay at home for the next few days and they’ll have food delivered to her, along with whatever she needs. He reassures Carol that they’re doing everything they can to figure out what’s wrong, so that they can fix her and allow her to join them. By “them” I assume he means this freakishly happy hive mind of people smiling unnaturally all the time.
Pluribus is set to air on Apple TV+ on Nov. 7. The show has already been greenlit for a second season.
