Well this is a bit of a disappointing one. After all of that weird voice actor drama and a somewhat lackluster reveal at Summer Game Fest, it looks like it’ll be quite a while before we actually see Persona 4 Revival.
During the Sega Sammy management meeting that happened last week, a financial report revealed that Persona 4 Revival has now been listed as a project for FY2027, which means it won’t be out till the 2027 fiscal year. For folks who may not be aware of how fiscal years work, they’re the time period where companies take stock of all their projects and earnings. For Sega, a regular fiscal year starts on April 1, and ends on March 31. This means that FY2027 will start on April 1, 2026, and end on March 31, 2026.
With Persona 4 Revival being a FY2027 project, this means that the game could come out any time during that one-year period. Alongside P4 Revival is Stranger than Heaven, another Sega title that got revealed at The Game Awards 2024 before getting a new trailer earlier this month.
I suppose it’s not really surprising that Persona 4 Revival is still so far out. After all, we did just get Persona 3 Reload at the start of 2024, and the trailer we saw at Summer Game Fest was extremely barebones. We only got brief glimpses of the Inaba Central Street, and a short look at the protagonist’s character model running around in a more traditional third-person camera view. It also remains to be seen who exactly will be on the voice cast for this game, especially since it seems like most of the original actors have not been asked to return to the project.
Persona 4 Revival is set to be released for PC and consoles, though a release date has not been announced.
