Persona 4 Revival Officially Unveiled With a Short Trailer

After months of speculation and weird voice actor beef on Twitter and Bluesky, it’s official. Atlus is indeed working on a remake of Persona 4, and it’ll be titled Persona 4 Revival. They’re really leaning into the “Re-” title structure here, as the Persona 3 remake was titled Persona 3 Reload. At this point, Square Enix is gonna have to hustle to get their third FFVII remake game out the door before all the good “Re-“s get taken up.

Anyway, here’s the trailer for Persona 4 Revival:

It’s a very short trailer. Less than a minute, even. It’s almost as if Atlus has had it with all the rumors and decided to just put this thing out to say, “Yes we’re working on it. Leave us alone now, please.” The trailer gave us a quick look at the new environments in Inaba, including the central street and the shrine, as well as the iconic stacked televisions.

Towards the end, we also got a look at the character model for the player character. Unlike the OG Persona 4 and Golden, Persona 4 Revival will feature a fully controllable camera instead of a fixed one, keeping it similar to the style of P3 Reload and Persona 5. Overall it’s looking pretty good, though the game’s probably still really early in development.

P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada also released the following statement:

We are very pleased to announce the release of Persona 4 Revival. We look forward to sharing even more information in due time.

Persona 4 has spawned numerous spin-off works, including TV anime, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and is a special title that has been a part of Atlus for many years and holds a personal place in my heart. We are currently working on this project with all our passion and love. We are confident that this will be a fresh and surprising product for both newcomers and long-time fans and we look forward to sharing it with you all.

Additionally, we are actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio. We are working hard to meet the expectations of fans around the world and our work is progressing well. Please stay tuned for more updates.

We look forward to your continued support of the Persona series.

Persona 4 Revival doesn’t have a set release date just yet, but it will be available for PC and consoles.
