Octopath Traveler 0 Gets More Details on Companions, Monster Arena, & More

As we approach its release date in December, Square Enix and Dokidoki Grooveworks have released even more details and information about Octopath Traveler 0. This time around, we learn about the monarch plotting to take over Orsterra, the Travelers (read: companions) who can join you on your journey, and some of the structures you can build in the town-building segment of the game.

Here’s the lowdown:

Master of All: Pardis III, Ruler of All

The absolute monarch who rules the Kingdom of Edoras, with Wealth, Power, and Fame all at his command. His insatiable greed knows no bounds, as he initiates an invasion to seize Orsterra in its entirety. The embers of war scatter and spread across several nations, igniting countless tragedies.

Can you, Ringbearer chosen, shatter the tyrannical monarch’s ambitions? The greed of the Master of All looms over the land of Orsterra!

Pius (Cleric)

Voiced by Todd Haberkorn. A bishop of the Order of the Sacred Flame. A distant relative of the protagonist’s mother, who showed him great kindness when he was a child. He now hopes to return the favor.

Saoirse (Dancer)

Voiced by Brianna Knickerbocker. A traveling dancer who has unique artistic tastes. She possesses extraordinary vocal talent and seeks a partner who shares her sensibilities and can join her on stage.

Carinda (Merchant)

Voiced by Eric Mendez. A merchant who grew up in a small village on the outskirts of the Riverlands. She worms her way into people’s hearts with her warmth and friendliness and uses her great business sense to ensure she never misses an opportunity to make some leaves.

Trick of the TradeRaises physical attack of all allies for several turns, and grants them the ability to dodge physical attacks one time.

Xerc (Scholar)

Voiced by Adamn Korenman. A scholar who researches soulstones and is regarded as an eccentric within academic circles. His talented assistant is attempting to gather funds so that he can study a gargantuan soulstone.

Town Building

The Monster Arena can be built by progressing through your adventure. Unlock the monster “capture list” and “arena matches” to face off against your captive monsters! Complete capture requests and win matches to earn various rewards!

The Museum

Relish in the music obtained from “music scores” throughout your journey, revisit those adventurous memories through “journals,” and proudly display “treasures of legend” rumored to lie dormant in locations still undiscovered. Wishvale’s background music is also customizable, so gather your favorite music scores and configure its tune to your liking!

Octopath Traveler 0 is set to be released for PC and consoles on Dec. 4.
