How to Answer the New Game Question in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

When you start a new game in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, you’ll be asked to answer a rather strange question before you move on to choosing your preferred controls and difficulty settings. In the original game, it was never really clear what each of the answers did, but Delta makes it a lot simpler. Here’s everything you need to know about the new game question and answers in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

The game will ask what kind of experience you’ve had with the MGS series in the past and if you have a favorite game of the bunch. Depending on your answer, you’ll get a different type of camo or face paint for Snake. I’ve listed all the answers down below along with the item you’ll get for it.

I’m playing the MGS series for the first time!UNIFORM/MUMMY
I like MGS1!UNIFORM/DPM
UNIFORM/AUSCAM DESERT
I like MGS2!UNIFORM/DESERT TIGER
I like MGS3!UNIFORM/FLECKTARN
I like MGS4!FACE/GREEN
FACE/BROWN
I like Peace Walker!UNIFORM/BANANA
I like MGSV!FACE/NATIONAL FLAGS
I like everything in the MGS series!UNIFORM/GRENADE

I’ll note straight off the bat that you don’t necessarily need any of these specific camos or face paints to beat Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. All of the uniforms and face paints you can get in the base game itself will get the job done. That being said, there are a couple of options that are just a little bit more useful than the rest, and I’ll go over those below.

“I like MGS1!” is my personal pick here. The DPM camo is extremely useful for all of the jungle sections in the game, which means that you’ll likely use it for most of your playthrough. Auscam Desert is pretty good too when you enter different environments with white backgrounds, but DPM is the highlight here. Besides, these uniforms also come with special perks like increasing your Life regeneration rate, which can be helpful especially for first time players.

“I like MGS3!” isn’t a bad option either. The Flecktarn camo gives you unlimited battery power, which can be very useful in the early game. It’s also a green and brown dotted pattern, which makes it great for actual camouflage purposes.

If you’re not sure which to pick, either the MGS1 or MGS3 options or solid choices. If not, y’know, just pick your actual favorite MGS game and roll with that instead.
