There are a total of 50 Strangelings to find in Fantasy Life i. Here’s everything you need to know about the Strangelings in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.

Getting Strangelings from Random Drops
You’ll notice that several Strangelings in Fantasy Life i can only be obtained through random drops. Do note that you won’t get them just by randomly killing enemies. Instead, you need to look for monsters or resource nodes marked with a crown icon on your map.
When you find a crown enemy or node, defeat the enemy or gather from the node for a chance to get a Strangeling drop. This isn’t guaranteed though, so it may take quite a bit of time before you’re able to collect them all. Of course, if you have Yuelia’s affinity maxed out, you can increase your item drop rates, which will improve your chances.
How to Change Strangelings into Buddies

After getting a Strangeling, take them back to your base camp and interact with the Goddess Statue in the middle of the area. Select the Strangeling you want to revert into Buddy form, then offer up 100 Celestia’s Gifts to complete the process.
Do note that Celestia’s Gifts are time-gated, and will respawn daily on your island. After you’re done collecting them from the day, you’ll need to wait till the next day in real-time before you can farm them again. You can also increase the number of Celestia’s Gifts that spawn by expanding your island, building structures, and increasing your affinity with your existing Buddies.
Best Strangelings in Fantasy Life i
Which Strangelings you have in your party will largely depend on what your current focus is. That being said, there are a select few that very clearly stand above the rest, and I’ll go over each one below.
That being said, there’s one particular character you’ll want to have in your party pretty much all the time: Yuelia. Not only is she great in combat, her maxed out affinity skill also gives you a 10% boost to your item drop rate. This is invaluable for resource gathering, especially if you’re planning on maxing out all your Lives.
Best Combat Strangelings
Strangeling | Life | Description |
---|---|---|
Yuelia | Magician | Yuelia boasts great AoE attacks and damage output, and she increases your item drop rate. Need I say more? |
Snow | Mercenary | Helps to slow down enemies while dealing high Water damage. |
Rouge | Mercenary | Stuns enemies and buffs your allies. |
Hilda | Paladin | Heals and support allies in a large area, and is also very tanky. |
Other solid combat choices include Sloane, who is also able to buff and heal your party at the same time, and Laura, who also comes with AoE attacks. They’re both excellent choices for combat-focused parties, though you’ll probably want to replace them with any of the four above as you unlock them.
Best Gathering Strangelings

Listed below are my picks for the best gathering-focused Strangelings in each Life:
Strangeling | Life | Description |
---|---|---|
Teruha | Angler | Teruha offers a buff for both saltwater and freshwater fish, and increases your SP regen rate. |
Duglas | Miner | Duglas offers a buff for both gems and metals, and increases your SP regen rate. |
Orlando | Woodcutter | Orlando offers a buff for all tree types, and increases your SP regen rate. |
Butch | Farmer | Butch offers a buff for all vegetable types, and increases your SP regen rate. |
Best Crafting Strangelings
Finally, it’s a little bit difficult to pick out the best Strangelings for crafting because they all specialize in different things. You can’t really go wrong with any of them because all of them give you three auto-actions while crafting. However, their specializations do change. For instance, Kunugi is great for weapon recipes, but Cormell gives you a bonus when crafting furniture.
Neither one of them is strictly better than the other; you just need to pick them based on what you’re crafting at any given point in time.
Hopefully this answers any questions you may have about the Strangelings in Fantasy Life i. Leave a comment below if you need clarification on anything, or if you think I’ve missed out on something.
