Death Stranding 2 Artist Location (Lauren Tsai)

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach features a fair number of celebrity cameos and appearances, but some of them are missable. In particular, Lauren Tsai (an illustrator who has also appeared in Terrace House: Aloha State) is located off the beaten path and can be easily missed. Here’s how to find the Artist in Death Stranding 2.

The Artist is located in Mexico, and you can get to her as soon as you gain control of Sam and start making deliveries in Death Stranding 2. That being said, I don’t recommend doing so until you’ve completed the first boss fight at Deadman’s lab. After that fight, you gain access to the Tri-Cruiser, which makes exploration and traversal that much easier.

In addition to that, if you’ve happened to miss the Artist and gone on ahead to Australia, don’t worry. As soon as you progress through to the Animal Shelter as part of the main story, the DHV Magellan will be able to fast travel between key facilities, and also between Mexico and Australia, so you can always come back later.

Anyway, the Artist is located on top of a hill just north of C1 Southern Distribution Center. From the Center, head up north towards where the DHV Magellan is usually parked, then turn left to find a long path leading upwards.

Follow the path, and this will eventually take you to the Artist’s abode, where you’ll meet Lauren Tsai herself. As you’re making the trek upwards, don’t forget to hit L1 to scan your surroundings for some lost cargo that you can deliver to the Artist. After interacting with the Terminal, you’ll connect the Artist to the chiral network, which means you can start taking on Orders and also build structures in that region.

Rank Rewards for The Artist

Lauren Tsai is an artist and illustrator herself, so it makes sense that her rewards would be cosmetic-related. As you rank up with her by completing Orders and deliveries, you’ll be rewarded with the following color palettes for Sam’s suit:

  • Coyote Brown
  • Bright Yellow
  • Navy Blue
  • Volcano Orange
  • Desert Pink
  • Ghost Green
  • Express Purple
  • Signal Green
  • Sandy Tan
  • Rose Pink

In addition to that, as you complete deliveries for her, the Artist will also send you new illustrations that you can display in your Private Room. The illustrations were done by Tsai herself, so it’s a pretty cool Easter Egg for fans who might want to show off her art in-game.

Who Is Lauren Tsai?

Lauren Tsai first came into mainstream attention when she appeared on Netflix’s Terrace House: Aloha State as a participant in 2016. She was part of the initial batch of housemates, though she didn’t stay on the show for too long.

After her stint on Terrace House, she continued work as a model and artist, and has appeared in various magazines and fashion shows in both Hawaii and Japan. She also did artwork for Marvel comics, including Captain Marvel No. 1. Since then, she’s gone on to appear in Legion Season 3, and has also released artwork for sale and worked on an animation project.

On social media, she’s been shown to have visited Hideo Kojima at Kojima Productions. It’s not entirely clear how the two crossed paths, though with Tsai being based in Japan for a while, it’s possible they linked up then. And now, she’s the Artist in Death Stranding 2!
