Best Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign

Right off the bat, it seems obvious that Raider, Ironeye, and possibly even Recluse are going to be the best and most versatile Nightfarers to use in Elden Ring Nightreign. Because this is a multiplayer game, I anticipate that support skills are going to be valued much more highly than pure DPS classes.

Raider

Possibly the best Nightfarer in Elden Ring Nightreign. A character with a horned helmet and a large axe.

Okay first off, this is insane. The Raider is basically a Barbarian-style character you can find in any FromSoft game, but now he gets crazy support skills as well. In terms of damage output, I anticipate that the Raider’s going to do respectable numbers. The real highlight, though, is in the rest of his kit.

Retaliate sounds like a solid DPS move, while Totem Stela is going to provide a lot of utility to the party. A giant wall that helps to block attacks can be very useful when you just need to take a breather. It gives you time to regroup, and it also gives your party members a buff if they’re nearby. Just based on the Art alone, the Raider is going to be a solid pick in Nightreign.

Ironeye

I was initially pretty meh on Ironeye, but after seeing him in action first-hand, I’m a believer. The map in Nightreign can feel massive and overwhelming, and Ironeye helps to make it feel more accessible. He’s able to quickly locate key locations and resources, allowing the squad to gear up fast.

Ironeye also comes in very handy when you have downed teammates, as he’s able to revive them quickly just by firing off shots from a distance. You’re forced to fight enemies from range, yes, but Ironeye’s versatility makes him one of the best Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign, and a squad mainstay.

Recluse

A female mage character holding a staff with a blue aura, facing off against a large cloaked enemy.

As someone who’s always loved support-style characters, the Recluse is the Nightfarer I’m most excited for. From the looks of it, you’re getting all your usual magic pew pew attacks. Going a step beyond that, you’re also getting an excellent skill with Soulblood Song, which encourages your party to press forward with attacking.

Soulblood Song helps to restore health and FP to your party members if they attack a branded enemy. Not only are you pushing DPS, you’re also helping to restore their resources.

An honorable mention should be given to the Duchess too, as I can see Finale being huge in boss fights. Going stealthy in Elden Ring Nightreign could prove to be invaluable if you need to take a breather, or try to get the jump on an enemy.

Best Class for Beginners

If you’re new to Elden Ring, and you’re planning on jumping into Nightreign, Wylder is probably going to be your best bet. Like in all other FromSoft games, you can’t go wrong with a classic sword and board setup. This lets you learn the basics of combat, it’s fast enough as a class, and you don’t have to worry about supporting your party. Just focus on whacking things with your sword.

Wylder won’t bring as much utility as the other classes, but this will be a fantastic Nightfarer to start with if you’re looking to learn the ropes.

How to Change Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign

You won’t be able to change Nightfarers once you’ve properly started a run, so do it in the Roundtable Hold before heading out. From the main room in the Roundtable Hold, look for a smaller table in the corner and interact with it by pressing the triangle or Y button. This lets you access the character selector screen, and you can pick the Nightfarer you want to play as.

When you’re about to start an expedition, you’ll get another chance to confirm the character you want to use. Do note, though, that you can’t have two of the same character in a party. If you’re in a party with randoms, you’ll probably want to lock in your pick as soon as you can.
