Sandfall Interactive has just pushed out Ver 1.3.0 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and it comes with a slew of new difficulty modifiers to make the game more approachable (or harder) for players. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the highest rated games on Metacritic in 2025, and it’s also been lauded as one of the best RPG releases in recent years.
The latest patch makes Story difficulty a little easier. Now, players will be able to enjoy much more forgiving parry and dodge windows. While this is a turn-based RPG, you’re still forced to dodge, parry, and block attacks in real-time. Attacks are all properly telegraphed, but it can still be tricky trying to get the timing down.
There are also a few additions that make the game a little more challenging. From Act III onwards, you’ll be able to limit player damage and also increase enemy health. Here are the full patch notes for Ver 1.3.0 in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33:

- Players can now rematch Simon after defeating him!
