Best Birthsigns for All Play Styles

Which Birthsign you choose will largely depend on your play style. That being said, there are clear winners here that you should absolutely consider above the rest. I’ll go over each individual play style.

All-Rounder

For folks who can’t quite decide on their build and play style in Oblivion Remastered, go with The Thief. The bonus to Agility, Speed, and Luck is pretty insane and hard to turn down. Regardless of your build, these attributes are always going to be useful.

Alternatively, you can also consider The Ritual. You get Mara’s Gift by picking this one, which lets you heal 200 Health once per day. That’s nothing to scoff at. You also get Blessed Word, which works very effectively against undead enemies. And you’ll be fighting a lot of undead enemies in Oblivion: Remastered.

If you’re leaning more towards a melee-based build that relies on physical attacks, go with The Warrior.

This Birthsign gives you a bonus to your Endurance and Strength, which means that you hit harder, and your Stamina regenerates a lot faster. Basically, you hit harder and faster. Simple. Nothing to debate here.

Magic

Finally, for folks who want to play around with a magic-based build, go with either The Mage or The Lady. Personally, I’m more inclined to pick The Mage just because you get increased Magicka, which means you get to spam your spells a lot more frequently.

That being said, The Lady isn’t a bad pick either. This Birthsign gives you a bonus to your Willpower and Endurance, so you get increased Stamina and Magicka regeneration.

How to Pick Your Birthsign

You can pick your Birthsign in Oblivion Remastered very early on in the game. During the tutorial section as you’re making your way out of the prison, you’ll eventually run into Emperor Septim again and his two guards. The guards will try to kill you, but the Emperor will stop them and then ask for your Birthsign.

Can You Change Your Birthsign?

Well, yes, but only at the start of the game. When you complete the tutorial section, just before you leave the prison and step into the open-world, the game will prompt you one last time to make sure that you’re happy with your build. If you’re having second thoughts, now’s the time to choose another Birthsign.

If you progress, you’ll no longer be able to make any changes to your Birthsign, so make sure you’re happy with it. Of course, you could always use console commands to make character adjustments, but that option’s only available to PC players.

Hopefully that answers your question of what the Birthsigns do in Oblivion Remastered, and which ones you shoud pick.
