New Life Is Strange Game to Be Revealed Next Week

The Life Is Strange brand has languished for a little while now, but hey, maybe sixth time’s the charm? Square Enix and Deck Nine have just announced via the game’s official Twitter account that a new Life Is Strange game will be announced on Jan. 20, next Tuesday.

You can check out the little teaser tweet down below, accompanied for a video showing off the date and a silhouette of someone walking by.

The caption reads: “Separate the real from the rumor… Join us for the exclusive reveal of the next Life Is Strange game.” The reveal itself will be on the official YouTube channel, at 10 a.m. PT, or 1 p.m. ET.

As for the figure walking by? Well, we couldn’t really get a good look at their face, but the video does stop when the figure turns their back, allowing us to examine the pattern on their denim jacket. The figure could either be a boy or a girl with short hair which looks brownish in color. Given that we saw the return of Max Caulfield in Double Exposure, fans are speculating that (and hoping) we may see Chloe Price return in the next game. After all, Chloe was one of the most popular characters introduced in the first game, and even went on to become the main protagonist in Deck Nine’s follow-up, Before the Storm, which I’d argue is the best game in the entire Life Is Strange series thus far.

Since its original release in 2015, we’ve seen four other games in the series: Before the Storm, Life Is Strange 2, True Colors, and Double Exposure.

Double Exposure got off to a strong start but seemed to fall off towards the end, so we’ll have to see whether Square Enix is able to bring the series back to its former glory with this upcoming entry.
