What Is the Ending Song in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle (Akaza’s Return)?

Japanese pop singer LiSA has always been pretty popular in the J-pop world, but I’d argue that she really got her breakout moment with Demon Slayer Season 1 and its iconic opening theme song. LiSA does indeed return for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle (Akaza’s Return), and here’s everything you need to know about the ending song in that movie.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle (Akaza’s Return) Ending Song

The ending song that plays in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle (Akaza’s Return) is called Shine in the Cruel Night, performed by LiSA. The Japanese title is 残酷な夜に輝け.

This song plays right at the very end of the movie once the credits have started rolling. We get a glimpse of all our main characters and where they’re at after the first wave of battles, and it serves as a nice closer to the journey so far, while also setting up the stakes for the next movie in the trilogy. As you might have inferred from the song title, the lyrics reflect pretty typical anime tropes and sentiments. Y’know, stuff like perseverance in the face of hardships, believing in your comrades and trusting that you’ll all come back together to overcome any obstacles. It’s all very somber but somewhat feel-good.

Unlike Aimer’s A World Where the Sun Never Rises, LiSA’s song is a little heavier and solemn. At this point, most of our main characters have been pretty badly beaten up, and considering that there are still so many more challenging foes ahead — not to mention Muzan himself — things aren’t looking too good for our heroes.

LiSA has worked on multiple songs for the Demon Slayer series, as listed below:

  • Gurenge (Season 1 opening)
  • From the Edge (Season 1 ending)
  • homura (Mugen Train)
  • Akeboshi (Mugen Train arc opening)
  • Shirogane (Mugen Train arc ending)

Gurenge is inarguably the most popular of the lot, but they’re all certified bangers, really.
