Supergiant Games has been hard at work on Hades II, which released in Early Access last year. The Early Access build was already solid enough and packed with tons of content, but the developers have continued to push out updates and patches that add even more to it. The third major update, titled The Unseen Update, is now available. More excitingly, however, Supergiant has also revealed that they’re now working on Hades II’s 1.0 launch.
First, let’s talk about The Unseen Update. You can check out the full patch notes on Steam, but here are the highlights:
- Discover the Hidden Aspects of the Nocturnal Arms! Each main weapon has an all-new new fighting style to unlock.
- Speak the Vow of Rivals at the Oath of the Unseen to take on stronger-than-ever Guardians, each with unique surprises!
- Unleash Godsent Hexes on your foes, dazzling Moon magick upgraded with the power of the Olympians.
- Forge Bonds with a variety of characters in many new optional story events that bring you closer than before.
- Harness the revamped Umbral Flames, now offering a snappier fighting style for keeping your foes at bay.
Aside from that, players can look forward to new music tracks, story events, artwork, and visual flourishes. For the 1.0 launch and other major things Supergiant will be working on after this, here’s what you can expect:
- The True Ending: The conclusion of Princess Melinoë’s story is the main addition we’re planning for our v1.0 launch. We have no plans for additional regions, encounters, abilities, and so on.
- Achievements: With the game structure fully intact, we’ll be adding Achievements in the lead-up to launch. Note you will not need to start from the beginning to earn any Achievements.
- Finishing Touches: We’re continuing to polish and refine all the content we’ve introduced in Hades II, from Boons and powers to artwork and story events.
Supergiant was quick to clarify that there’s no set release date for the 1.0 launch just yet, but dare I hope it’ll come in the Fall?
Hades II is now available via Steam Early Access.
