The Game Awards isn’t really about the awards. It never has been. Instead, it’s more about the trailers for games we already know about and new games that we haven’t seen yet. Here’s a list of every trailer we saw at The Game Awards 2025.
Pragmata (April 24, 2026)
Capcom showed up with a new trailer for Pragmata, announcing that a demo is now available on Steam. We didn’t see a ton of new stuff outside of more gameplay footage and a look at its sci-fi environs and what looks to be a holographic cat. A demo will be available for consoles at a later date.
TankRat (Spring 2026)
In TankRat, you take control of a futurisitc tank and try to survive against other tanks in a brutal open-world. There are plenty of customization options for the tank as well, allowing you to build it according to your needs.
Bradley the Badger
Developed by Day 4 Night comprising of ex-developers who worked on Mario + Rabbids, Bradley the Badger features a cute badger character with platforming, puzzles, and action. You can use a laser whip to grab things, create and morph items to help with platforming. Then the trailer gives us a crazy reveal that you’re actually a human playing the character with a VR headset. Trippy.
Stupid Never Dies
Stupid Never Dies is an action game made by a studio called GPTrack50 from Osaka. I really don’t know what to make of it. The trailer features a male and female protagonist. The former is a zombie-looking dude described as a bottom-level scrub, while the girl is named Julia and described as out of his league. Stupid Never Dies was made by developers who have previously worked on Devil May Cry and Resident Evil.
Star Wars: Fate of the Republic
Not much to talk about here outside of the reveal itself. Star Wars: Fate of the Republic is a new game from Casey Hudson, who made the beloved Knights of the Old Republic.
Divinity
Divinity‘s CGI trailer starts with what looks like a happy clappy festival in a medieval fantasy setting. Then things get dark when we see a man tied to a wooden structure in the middle of the area as he gets burned alive while the villagers watch and clap. Things get even darker as we get close-up shots of animals and people eating meat in a grotesque way. Something bursts out of the burning man’s body, and everyone runs away in horror. Great reminder that I really gotta beat Baldur’s Gate 3 already.
4 Loop
JJ Abrams and Left 4 Dead creator Mike Booth took the stage to show off 4 Loop, a new game from Bad Robot Games. The trailer showed plenty of shooter action, along with a quick explainer about how your player character can die and get reprinted to experiment with new strategies.
Coven of the Chicken Foot
Okay so this trailer just showed off a cute grandma and a big woolly monster exploring a beautiful world together while doing co-op stuff. Yeah sign me up, please.
Ontos (2026)
Ontos is a first-person horror game that looks kinda BioShock-y with a neat sci-fi twist. The trailer showed off lots of gruesome stuff like skin falling off a person’s body or needles getting inserted into someone’s head. This is a spiritual successor to SOMA.
Resident Evil Requiem (Feb. 27, 2026)
It’s been officially confirmed. Leon will return as a second protagonist in Resident Evil Requiem. Whereas Grace’s story is more focused on the survival horror elements, Leon’s story is more action oriented. The new trailer gave us a look at Leon’s badassery with guns, chainsaws, uppercuts, and more.
Order of the Sinking Star
This is a fascinating one. Order of the Sinking Star is a puzzle game from Jonathan Blow, who made Braid. This game features more than 1,400 puzzles and was 10 years in the making.
Exodus (Early 2027)
Exodus is a sci-fi game from Wizards of the Coast and Archetype Entertainment. It looks very Mass Effect, but kinda without the charm.
Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons (2027)
We got a very quick glimpse at Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons, and we’ll be getting a proper gameplay reveal in summer 2026.
Control Resonant (2026)
A follow-up to Remedy Entertainment’s Control, Control Resonant features a new male protagonist and some set-pieces that look like they were taken out of Inception.
Gang of Dragon
Gang of Dragon is a new game from Nagoshi Studio. It’s hard not to draw the Yakuza parallels here, but I’m really loving the more serious tone compared to Yakuza.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (May 29, 2026)
The Lego games are always a good time, and this one looks no different. Lego Batman returns to do Lego Batman things, and we also catch a glimpse of a bunch of Bat suits, along with Joker as one of the main villains, and Catwoman as a supporting character. Robin and Batgirl also show up as playable characters.
Tomb Raider Catalyst (2027)
Crystal Dynamics did a pretty good job with Lara Croft’s reboot trilogy and they’re bringing her back with Tomb Raider Catalyst. Lara sports her classic outfit this time though, with guns akimbo, the shorts, and the iconic blue tanktop.
Forest 3
Forest 3, a play on the word forestry, is a cool-looking first-person sci-fi game with neat beam guns. It’s also got a bit of a horror element to it as you explore an alien planet with terrifying flora and fauna.
Invincible VS (April 30, 2026)
We got introduced to a new character in the form of Ella Mental in Invincible VS. “Some minor Earth hero”, according to Robot, but she certainly packs a punch.
Orbitals (2026)
I really like the look of this one. Orbitals sports a retro anime aesthetic and it’s a split-screen co-op game where you ride around on spaceships, fly with jetpacks, and shoot and beat up things. Yeah sign me up.
Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred (April 28, 2026)
We got a new teaser trailer for Diablo IV‘s upcoming expansion, titled Lord of Hatred. It shows off the new Paladin class, which is available today if you pre-order the expansion now.
Marvel Rivals
Cool animated trailer featuring Deadpool doing Deadpool things in Marvel Rivals. Season 6, titled Night at the Museum. Shows off Elsa Bloodstone and Rogue.
007 First Light (March 27, 2026)
The new trailer for 007 First Light is focused on Bawma, voiced by Lenny Kravitz, who serves as the main antagonist of the story. We don’t get to see all that much of him, aside from a short scene of him taunting Bond in captivity.
Lords of the Fallen II (2026)
When the trailer first started, I could’ve sworn this was a new Souls game or something. But no, it’s just Lords of the Fallen II. This time, you’ll be able to cut limbs off of your enemies.
Saros (April 30, 2026)
Housemarque showed up at The Game Awards 2025 with a trailer for their brand new game. This is Saros, which is another sci-fi horror/action game that looks very similar to Returnal. There are, of course, bullet-hell mechanics and fast-paced shooting, though it’ll probably be more story-focused than Returnal.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve (2026)
I certainly didn’t see this coming, but Bandai Namco is bringing the Ace Combat series back with Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. It certainly looks very pretty.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer (2026)
Star Wars is so in right now. Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a pod racer game with souped graphics and what looks like pretty decent track variety with both snowy and desert landscapes.
Out of Words (2026)
Out of Words is a lovely stop-motion papier mache-looking game where you and another player must explore a gorgeous world and solve puzzles together.
Phantom Blade Zero (Sept. 9, 2026)
I’ll be honest. I’d heard a lot about Phantom Blade Zero and I knew people were excited about it but I’d never actually seen it in action. After seeing that trailer, though, I’m kinda interested. This is a Wuxia RPG that incorporates elements of Chinese culture and as someone who grew up with similar stories, it’s certainly something I might want to check out. For whatever reason, Black Myth: Wukong never really caught my eye though…
Megaman: Dual Override (2027)
I definitely didn’t see that coming and I’m sure this is a big deal to a lot of people. But unfortunately, as a very deprived kid who didn’t get to play many games beyond Pokemon, it’s difficult for me to feel too excited about this. In fact, I remember checking out a Mega Man remastered collection at one of the E3s I attended some years ago and utterly embarrassing myself in front of the PR rep because I’m just absolutely terrible at platformers. So look, it’s great that Capcom is bringing this back. I’m very happy for all y’all Megaman fans, but this will likely be a pass for me.
Highguard (Jan. 26, 2026)
Highguard was made by Wildlight Entertainment, comprised of developers who worked on Apex Legends and Titanfall. This is a new shooter game with major futuristic elements and environments that are a blend of sci-fi and fantasy. Highguard will be free-to-play.
